About Us

Roz often wonders how it all happened. How did she manage to have the best job in the world doing what she loves growing cut flowers? Did it all start way back with a degree in Environmental Science...

Honestly Roz found cut flower farming by mistake - or did it find her?

Having moved in 2007 into a house with land, Roz set to working out a plan to make use of it. Animals came first, chickens, pigs and later on  goats. Then Roz embarked on a one-day course in growing your own cut flowers and something inspired Roz to take this further.

Roz has such a love for the environment and horticulture. Everyday there is something new to learn and she loves sharing her knowledge in all her communities.

She believes passionately if we all grow more globally, we will be able to reduce the massive transportation of blooms across the globe. Currently, 90 percent of all flowers in the UK are imported from as far away as Columbia, Ethiopia and Kenya. This will help save the planet for our children and their children's children.

Today the business is very different to the early days with three raised beds and no knowledge!

Roz now grows for weddings, funerals, wholesale and retail.

Roz combines her marketing knowledge gained from a career in Sales and Marketing spanning 30 years together with over 10 years of flower farming to deliver exceptional training for The Cut Flower Collective. Field Gate Flowers continues to be a thriving flower farm.

There is little doubt that she is one of the only Flower farmers globally with such an extensive combined knowledge of sales and marketing with cut flower farming. Roz combines her love now of teaching, mentoring and flower farming and couldn’t be happier. She loves to teach everyone to grow cut flowers whether for profit or pleasure.

Roz’s day job (together with her team)  involves writing course material, researching content, finding guest speakers that will add value to  all her courses, managing all our social media channels, weeding, watering, propagating, and meeting brides and grooms to talk about their special days, cutting and conditioning blooms for bouquets and DIY buckets - there certainly couldn’t be a more varied job and she truly loves it.

Roz is also now a bestselling author. Check out her book here and her Cut Flower Planner here

Roz has an amazing team working alongside her including Operations, Accountancy, Horticulture and Floristry.
She hopes you will join us on your cut flower journey.
